Sarah's life was a beautiful testament to love, faith, and family. She married her husband Bob on October 8,1957. She cherished her time with family above all else. She was a loving mother and Nanny who took great pride in making her house into a loving home.
Cooking for others was a love language for Sarah. She loved being in the kitchen and called it her happy place. Every dish served with a dash of love.
She was known for her delicious chicken and rice, potato casserole, strawberry cakes and the very best sweet tea. She had a bit of a sweet tooth and never turned down chocolate.
Together, Bob and Sarah owned the sale barn in Potter for over 45 years. During this time they were able to work along side their two sons and grandson. A true family owned business ran with heart and soul. One of her proudest accomplishments was being named Polk County Farm Family of the year as well as Western District Farm Family of the year in 2013. The plaque still proudly displayed in the living room.
Sarah also enjoyed her independence. She loved her years spent working within the Walmart clothing department with great friends.
She was always up for any adventure.
She loved to travel with family and friends.
Sarah loved soaking up the sun from the island shores of Hawaii to the sandy beaches in Florida.
On her travels she explored New York and sailed the ocean on a cruise.
Sarah loved a good opportunity to go shopping. She always looked forward to the War Eagle craft fair, and loved her surprise birthday trip to the Pioneer Woman Farm.
Sarah was a strong woman, mother and Nanny. A woman whose influence will change lives for generations to come.
Nanny's kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
