Sandra Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bowser Family Funeral Home - Broken Bow on Dec. 9, 2025.
Sandra Smith, known to her friends and family as "Chris", was born on March 30, 1965 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Chris left us on December 8, 2025.

Chris found her way to Arkansas where she and her son Joseph made a life for themselves and made life long friends. She lived her life her way, good, bad or indifferent. She adored her grandchildren, Joseph, Lilly and Warren as they always brought a smile to her face and made her laugh. Chris also loved her TV and remote, and heaven forbid there was a power outage, or she dropped the remote and could not change the channel. The Price is Right is on at 10 am and she never missed it. She was able to purchase her house, which was a lifelong dream of hers and although it was small it was hers and she made it into a home. She lived a simple life and had a dog named Spunky for many years before his passing. She loved Spunky and all his antics as he was a great companion and friend. Her sister Tammy will miss her calls and laughter, our silly songs and her stories, as she had many to share.

Chris had many close friends who rallied to help her in her time of need and Chris's family will be forever grateful for all that they did to make her life comfortable, happy and fulfilled.

Chris is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Joseph and Miranda Parra; three grandchildren, Joseph, Lilly and Warren of Mena Arkansas; and her sister, Tammy Christensen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sandra and Larry Smith; and two brothers, Larry and Douglas Smith, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

A small gathering to celebrate Chris will be held on the mountain on Sunday, December 14th at 1:00 pm. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.
