Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Service - BismarckSarah Jane Johnson, 94, passed away peacefully with family at her side on August 26, 2025. A 70-year resident of Williston, she had recently lived in Bismarck.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Faith Methodist Church, 219 1st Avenue W., in Williston.
Sarah Jane Anderson was born in Bismarck on September 9, 1930. She graduated from Bismarck High School and received her associate’s degree from Bismarck Junior College.
She married Wilbur E. “Bill” Johnson on July 5, 1950. They had five children.
Sarah Jane worked at the law firm of Bjella & Jestrab. She also ran an insurance business for many years. She enjoyed travel with Bill around the U.S. and Europe, as well as numerous visits with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her hobbies included crossword and sudoku puzzles, home improvement projects, embroidery, performing with Entertainment, Inc!, and gardening. She was especially active in the Faith Methodist church community, singing in the choir for 60 years, serving on committees and as a lay speaker, and working as Treasurer for thirteen years.
She is survived by her brother, Jim (Joann) Anderson; daughters TJ (Charlie) Fechtel and Nancy (Mark) Hollan; sons Jim (Laurice), Dave (Terry), and Mike (Melissa); nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents Raymond and Annie Anderson; brothers Ralph and Richard; and sister Doris.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in her honor to the charity of the donor’s choice.
