JoAnn Becker met her Lord and Savior August 22, 2025.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Harvest Church,1122 N 3rd St, #B, Bismarck. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

JoAnn was born in Hazen, ND on May 1, 1940, to Ernest and Rose Schramm. She graduated from Hazen High School and went to Dickinson State. She moved to Bismarck and married Leonard in May 1961. JoAnn and Leonard loved collecting antiques. They lived in Salinas, CA, and Bismarck, ND, where Todd and Brad were born. Also, the family lived in Duluth, MN, and Wishek, ND. While in Wishek, she created floral décor for her business, Lavender Patch. JoAnn was always busy and on the go. Wherever JoAnn lived, she made many special friends who were very important to her. Most important to her was her family. She loved them all so much and had so many great memories with each one. Tea parties at the lake cabin on West Silent Lake, MN, with the grandkids were so special. While she didn’t have any sisters, she had special bonds with many sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews. JoAnn had a unique gift to make everyone she met feel valued and so very special. She always put the needs of others before her own. JoAnn was also very mischievous and loved to play practical jokes and make others happy. She was “quite the prankster”. JoAnn loved dogs, and the family farm in Hazen was dear to her heart. JoAnn and Leonard enjoyed traveling, and her most memorable and special trip was to Israel. She always said, “It was the most meaningful trip and made me feel so close to Jesus”.

She is survived by her two sons, Todd (Tammy) and Brad (Anne); five grandchildren, Matthew, Olivia (Josh) Kosienski, Grace (Shawn) Christensen, Jake (Meredith), and Maxwell; and three great-grandchildren, Estee and Ollie Kosienski and Lila Christensen.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Rose Schramm; her husband Leonard; and her 3 brothers, Larry, Clayton, and Lester.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the ND Veterans Cemetery.
