Sarah Raley Weldon

Sarah Raley Weldon, age 92, loving wife, mother, and Nanny, passed away on November 9, 2025, in Chelsea, AL. Born on July 13, 1933, in Vincent, AL, Sarah was one of six children born to James T. and Ivie C. Raley. She graduated from Vincent High School, where she met her husband, GW Weldon, of Chelsea, AL. Sarah and GW were married on September 2, 1951, and lived in Chelsea, AL with their three children: David, Denise, and Dawn.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, GW Weldon; her son, David Wayne Weldon; her parents, James Thomas and Ivie Clinkscales Raley; sisters, Matilene Holcombe, Nadine Southern, Christine Dorminey, and brothers, Raymond Raley and Dan T. Raley. She is survived by her daughters, Denise Weldon Smith and Dawn Weldon Arnold (Mike); grandchildren, Joshua David Arnold (Leslie), Jonathan Michael Arnold (Molly), Jenna Arnold Runge (Kenton); great-grandchildren, Graham Weldon Arnold, Henry Greyson Arnold, Kayson Jane Runge, Leo James Arnold, and Cade Alexander Runge, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Stacey Reese, Malinda Salser, and Teresa Lee.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Chelsea Church of God in Chelsea, Alabama.
A service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Chelsea Church of God located at 2020 Highway 39, Chelsea, AL 35043. There will be a visitation at the Chelsea Church of God at 1:00 pm immediately prior to the service. Burial will be at Mt. Signal Cemetery in Westover, AL. Bolton Funeral Home directing.
