Sarai Lin Mata

Sarai Lin Mata, 44, passed away on September 11, 2025. She was born on February 14, 1981, to Steven Tucker and Catherine Green.

She is survived by her children, Selena Boyer, Kaylee Slone-Tucker, Hailey Mata, Victor Mata Jr. and Andrea Mata; granddaughter, Everly Kidder; parents, Catherine Conaway, and Steven Tucker; siblings, Jennifer Tucker, Shaun Tucker and Jason Tucker and the love of her life, Victor Mata.

Sarai lived a life full of love, laughter and adventure. She cherished the outdoors, finding peace and joy in camping, fishing, and walks in the park. She had a deep love for plants and animals. She was known as the biggest animal lover. Sarai was very creative and artistic, and one day dreamed of buying land and living off the grid. Her favorite drink was coffee and was known for being loud in the best way always bringing energy and light to those around her. A fan of country music, shopping, tools, and rocks, she found joy in life's simple treasures. Food was another way she shared love: Sarai really enjoyed tamales, atole, enchiladas and chilaquiles. Her favorite candy bar was Snickers. One of her most treasured places was Alpha, where she made a dear friend. Sarai loved her job and poured her heart into her work but above all she was most proud of being a mother and grandmother.

Sarai's family will receive friends and family on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 1:00pm until the time of the service at 3:00pm at the Hampton Funeral Home in Jackson with Pastor Mike Prince officiating.
