Saundra J. Doup, 80 of Mount Vernon passed away on February 2, 2026 at Knox Community Hospital. She was born on April 29, 1945 to Thomas Earl and Evelyn Gladys (Maggley) Meharry in Mount Vernon, OH.

Saundra was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She was a member of the Red Hatter Society. Saundra worked in the Telephone office in Mount Vernon and Real Estate for a short time. Her last job was working for JC Penny in Mount Vernon. Saundra enjoyed shopping, eating out, cooking and reading. She also travelled extensively all over the world. Saundra's favorite thing was spending time with her family.

Saundra is survived by her brother Ron Meharry of Mount Vernon, OH; nieces Pamela Sutton of Mount Vernon, OH, Earlina (Tom) Lohff of Arizona; nephews Richard Eugene (Lisa) Branstool of Columbus, OH, Chad Meharry of Florida; Great Nephews Michael Hedinger of Frazeysburg, OH, Skylar Branstool of Shelby, OH; great niece Bridgette (Nathan) Shamblin of Frazeysburg, OH; great great niece Sydnei Shamblin; great great nephew Iszak Shamblin; cousin Leonard Jones; special friends Lisa and Chuck Payne; Donna Mickley and Mike Raffeity.

Saundra was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill Doup; sister Gloria Branstool; great nephew Shaun Hedinger; half sister Dorothy Bush and half brother Cecil Meharry.

Calling hours will be Monday, February 9, 2026 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Flowers – Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High Street, Mount Vernon, OH 43050 with a funeral service at 7:00pm.
