Saundra Elaine Smith, 85, of Locust, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.
Mrs. Smith was born on January 21, 1938, to the late Jennings Theodore and Minnie Arlene Taylor Deas. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ted Allen Smith; sister, Barbara Barnhardt; sister, Sharon Deas; sister, Jennings Deas; sister, Sylvia Honeycutt; brother, Wayne Deas; sister, Freida Almond.
Saundra thoroughly enjoyed cooking for her family and had done so for every Sunday that she was able. She was a very generous person with a sweet spirit.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Hartsell Funeral Home, 522 N. 2nd Street, Albemarle.. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 11:00 am, at the Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 24671 Millingport Road., Locust, officiated by Rev. David Wilson.
Survivors include son, Allen (Gayle) Smith; daughter, Tamara (Jeff) Biggers; son, Dayna (Cathy) Smith; grandson, Chris Smith; granddaughter, Katie Fezza; grandson, A.J Smith; grandson, Joshua Biggers; granddaughter, Jessica Biggers; granddaughter, Laura Smith; granddaughter, Hannah Smith; grandson, Dakota Smith; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (June) Deas; sister, Bonita (Robert) Bloodworth.
