Savilla M. Hackett, 78, of St. Petersburg, passed away on December 10, 2022. Born on July 19, 1944, in Anderson, Indiana, Savilla was one of three children of Marvin L. and Edith (Hobbs) Murrell. Savilla was married to her beloved husband for 48 years, U.S Army Retired CW4, Phillip G Hackett.

She was happiest when she was with her husband, and her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her achievements included being a member of the National Honor Society. She's was a terrific cook and her Christmas rum cakes were always a family favorite.
Her parents and her brothers, Ron Murrell and Gene Murrell preceded her in death.
She will be remembered and greatly missed by her husband and her children, Kerry (Julie), Troy, Greg (Marypat), Sean, Valerie and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Savilla and I had so much fun, made so many memories and loved one another. I miss our daily chats, and silly adventures.

Savilla was my secretary, best friend, and the wind beneath my wings during my tenure as chief of nursing services at MacDill AFB Hospital. She was also the smartest and most efficient exec I ever had in my 30-year Air Force career. It is hard to imagine a world without my dear, dear, and incredible Savilla.
