Saw Ahtar, age 35, of Storm Lake, Iowa died October 15, 2025 at his residence.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Funeral services will take place Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will take place Monday, October 20, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. in Storm Lake Cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Ahtar was born June 8, 1991 to A Tun and Than Ngwe in Thailand. He graduated from Kawmoorah High School in 2011. Ahtar was a lifelong Buddhist, and you could find him attending the Sittadhammathukha Temple.
On July 25, 2015, Ahtar was united in marriage to May Ko in Perry, Iowa. They were blessed with two children: Matthew and Skyler.
Soccer was Ahtar's favorite sport. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting deer and small game, and fishing. You could find Ahtar cooking and spending time with his family. He also loved music and playing his guitar. Traveling brought him great joy. Ahtar will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish Ahtar's memory include his beloved wife, May Ko of Storm Lake, Iowa; children: Matthew Ahtar of Storm Lake, Iowa; Skyler Ahtar of Storm Lake, Iowa; sisters: Lah Eh Htoo and Black Htoo of Omaha, Nebraska; Meeave Chandrea and Jaw Di of Green Forest, Arkansas; siblings-in-law: Phyo Ei Ei Phyu and Trevor Burns of Purcellville, Virginia; extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A Tun and Than Ngwe, and parents-in-law, Thoung Win and Khin Nyunt.
