Scott Taylor Balins, 61, of Chestertown, Maryland, passed away on June 1st, 2025 at The University of Maryland Shore Medical Center. Scott was born in Baltimore City, Maryland, on April 4th, 1964, to the late Paul A. and Lucille T. Balins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Paula Geipe, brother-in-law, Christopher Geipe, and sister-in-law Francine Reich. Scott was a devoted husband to his wife of 35 years, Amy Balins, and a loving father to Emily (Rodney) Spears, and Rebecca (Clyde) Balins-Moore. He is also survived by brother, Lawrence (Lynda) Balins; granddaughter, Magnolia June Taylor Moore; puppies, Molly and Lola; as well as many friends, fellow car enthusiasts, and colleagues who will miss him dearly.
Scott was hard-working and driven. He was a 1982 graduate of Franklin High School. He took great pride in his career as a truck driver, working for several companies before becoming the owner and operator of Taylor Transfer, LLC. He enjoyed spending time in nature, fishing, and taking many memorable camping trips with his close friends and children over the years. Scott was an avid Baltimore Ravens and lifelong Orioles fan. His true passion, however, was his car collection. He was a Ford fanatic, building close connections with other "car guys" and attending car shows such as Ocean City Crusin' Week and Carlisle Ford Nationals with his wife, Amy. Scott was a sentimental, strong-willed, man with a unique personality who loved his family with every fiber of his being.
An intimate gathering of family and close friends will be held to celebrate the life of Scott on Friday, June 6th, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Eline Funeral Home in Reisterstown, Maryland. A larger memorial service will be held at a later date to honor his memory with all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made to the Baltimore Humane Society.
