Vladimir "Mike" Zikan passed away on Saturday August 9, 2025 at the age of 96.

Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia on February 23, 1929. He spent 3 years in a German refugee camp before immigrating to the United States in 1951. 10 months later he was drafted to serve in the Korean War, even though he was not yet an American citizen. He returned to New York and eventually settled in Maryland, where he built a career and a family. Mike's athletic prowess was evident on the tennis court, the hockey rink, and the soccer field….where his skills excelled to the professional level. After a successful career at Westinghouse he settled into a comfortable lifestyle of retirement... swimming, playing tennis, and traveling. Mike's strong sense of duty made him an excellent provider for his family and caregiver for his wife toward the end of her life.

Vladimir "Mike" Zikan is predeceased by his wife Mary B. Zikan.

He leaves behind two sons, Garick Zikan and Craig Zikan, as well as a daughter-in-law Diane Reyes Zikan and four grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday August 20, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Eline Funeral Home 11824 Reisterstown Rd, Reisterstown, MD 21136. Burial will be private. A memorial service will be held Sunday August 24,2025 at 1:00 PM at Glyndon United Methodist Church 4713 Butler Rd, Glyndon, MD 21071.
