Scott "Stacy" Brown peacefully passed away May 5, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was 61 years of age. He is survived by Kellye Riley Brown, his wife of 27 years. His two children Scott Stacy Brown Jr. and Emily Grace Brown, his mother, Martha Jane Brown, his in laws, Rick and Marilyne Riley, Serita Riley, his sister and brother in law Sara and John Mallon, his nephews Patrick, Matthew and Will Mallon.
He was born on June 4, 1961, in Little Rock, Arkansas. On December 14, 1961, Emery Eugene "Gene" and Martha Jane Brown received a call that their baby boy would soon be joining their family. On December 18th he was in their arms heading to their home in Blytheville, AR. He was the biggest answer to their long awaited prayers.
Stacy was raised in Blytheville, AR surrounded by his beloved extended family. He was a national honor society scholar during his teen years. He began his college career at LSU where he fell in love with the school and the culture. He transferred to Centenary College in Shreveport, LA. where he was an active member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. He graduated in 1983 with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration.
Stacy's main priority was always people. He was a lover of music, sailing, baseball and wine. Stacy was involved with the HLSR for 29 years where he served on the WCBBQ committee and as a Vice Chairman on the wine committee. His love of wine led him to become a sommelier in 2010 which started many unforgettable trips to Napa Valley. Stacy obtained his sailing captain's license and used it to explore the beauty of the world's oceans with family and friends. When on land, he delighted in songwriting and playing in bands around Houston, TX.
Due to Stacy's optimistic outlook on life, dedication to hard work and genuine care for others, he excelled in his sales career throughout his adult life. He often befriended colleagues and clients alike, everyone was a friend to Stacy Brown.
Stacy's last years were marked by an incredible fight with ALS. He lived everyday with intention and hope. Stacy's faith was put into action as he weathered the storm that life brought. Stacy, Kellye, Emily, Scott, Jane, the "Cousin Friends" and the multitude of friends turned family chose to continue Just Livin'.
Stacy will be greatly missed for his fun loving personality, his gregariousness, his deep love for his wife, children, mother and friends. If you knew Stacy, you knew a good time. The love he shared will echo in the lives of those survived by him for generations to come. We rest assured that he is now in the arms of the God he loved and served throughout his life on earth.
A heartfelt thank you to our sweet Carlisa for loving and caring for Stacy daily. He loved you dearly. We would also like to thank Gabriel with Houston Hospice for taking such good care of "the boss".
The service will be held at Chapelwood United Methodist Church on Friday, the 12th of May at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers please consider sending donations to the ALS Texas Chapter or the Houston Livestock Show

I attended East Junior High and Blytheville High School with Stacy where we had many classes together. He was truly larger than life and always the first one to bring laughter to any situation. Anyone who knew him as a teenager will surely remember his hilarious Steve Martin impersonations, including the King Tut costume he wore to school for Spirit Day one year!
My sincere condolences to his family. May light perpetual shine on his memory.
