Scott Carroll Dunn

July 6, 1954 – August 7, 2025

On Thursday, August 7, 2025, Scott Carroll Dunn, age 71, of South Baltimore, MD, and more recently Berlin, MD, suddenly passed away at his home.

Scott is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Carol Dunn; his son Sean Dunn; his stepdaughters Brittney Alexander (and her husband, Jonathan Alexander) and Heather O'Neill; and his stepsons John Ferguson and Steven Ferguson. He is also survived by his grandchildren Shane, Emily, Bradan Alexander, Joshua Mattern, Leland, and Piper Wadkins, Joshua, Jordan, Madison, Camden, and Bailie Ferguson. He leaves behind his sister Charlene "Char" Dunn; his brother John Dunn (and his wife, Donna); and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Let us not forget his "babies," Ukie, Luna, and Daisey.

Scott was preceded in death by his father John T. Dunn, his mother Helen Dunn, his sister Mary-Lou Glinowiecki, and her husband Walter.

Born in South Baltimore, Maryland, Scott spent most of his life there before moving to Berlin in 2015. He attended Cardinal Gibbons High School, graduating in 1972. During his time there, he played on the lacrosse team, proudly helping lead them to a championship win in his senior year.

In 1991, Scott joined the I.A.T.S.E. Union #487 and also worked with Union #19. Over the years, he wore many hats-prop maker, carpenter, lead foreman, and gang boss-contributing his skills to numerous productions including House of Cards, Veep, The Wire, Homicide: Life on the Street, Silent Fall, For Richer or Poorer, and many others. He took great pride in his work and loved to share stories from his career.

Scott was an avid waterman, happiest with a fishing rod in hand or out crabbing at dawn. He treasured time spent on the Bay, especially with his son Sean. Friends and family were always welcome in his home, where he delighted in hosting seafood feasts of steamed crabs and shrimp.

A talented cook and baker, Scott loved experimenting in the kitchen and passing down recipes to his children. Thanksgiving was a highlight, when he would spend hours preparing an array of desserts, perfecting and tweaking each recipe. He enjoyed simple pleasures-like Thursday burger nights at Assateague Bar and Grill with his wife, playing Keno, or sharing crabs and shrimp at Crab Alley.

Scott's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Beefalo Bob's (8015 Fort Smallwood Rd, Curtis Bay, MD 21226) from 12:00–4:00 PM
