Scott Joseph Franda, 62, of Little Sturgeon, WI, a loving and caring husband, father, and valued member of the community, drew his last breath Wednesday evening, October 18, 2023, at his home after a brief but valiant battle with cancer.
Scott was born September 28, 1961, in Algoma, WI to Kermit and Cleo (Bellin) Franda. From a very young age, his work on the family dairy farm imparted upon him a resolute work ethic, staunch devotion to family, as well as the drive and ambition crucial to his life's later successes. One of his earliest triumph's, marrying the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Robin Brett, would undoubtedly make all other achievements possible. Because we all know beside every great man, is an even greater woman! In their 40+ years together, they enriched each other's lives and supported one another through thick and thin.
Since 1999, Franda Concrete & Excavating (formerly K&S) has become the result of Scott's pursuit of his dream of building a concrete and excavating business whose reputation has come to speak for itself. A reputation made possible because he truly loved what he did. He was always willing to go the extra mile and looked at shortcuts as an insult to the quality work he took pride in providing his clients. The commitment to quality he strived for each and every day is a legacy he leaves to his two sons, Matthew and Zachary.
He was a man who lived to work and was always "looking for something to do".
However, if he wasn't working to concrete the world, he was delivering gravel, playing farmer, or searching the ends of the Internet while looking for vintage snowmobiles, classic cars, or a good deal whether he needed what was being sold or not.
He will truly be missed, thought of often, and never forgotten.
He is survived by his wife Robin, 2 sons, Matthew and Zachary Franda, all of Little Sturgeon; mother Cleo, 2 brothers and 2 sisters; brother-in-law Jon Brett and sister-in-law Kristina Brett-Buckman (and Tiffany). He was preceded in death by his father, and parents-in-law William and Jody Brett.
A visitation for family and friends is scheduled for 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023, at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay.
