Scott H. Freedman, 58, of Stoughton passed away peacefully after a long illness, on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth while in the company of family and friends.
Born January 3, 1967 in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Linda Lombardi (Lasky) of Dorchester and Selwyn Freedman of Florida, and lovingly raised by Linda and his late step-father John O. Lombardi of Everett.
Scott was affectionally known as "Zoomie" by his many dear friends and coworkers as a reflection of his work ethic and enthusiasm for life. A passionate fan of all Boston sports teams, he was always ready to attend a game or watch on television with his friends. Scott was a kind- hearted man and put others before himself. He was loved greatly, and he will be missed.
He is survived by his siblings, Rachel Freedman of Holbrook, Reisa Clardy and late husband Tom of Hudson, and Eric Freedman of Foxborough; Nephews, Tyler and Noah; Nieces, Gabryella, Lily, Emma and Eva; Great-Nieces, Amera and Cleo; Cousins, Anissa Tomyl of Hudson and Lauren Godes of Stoughton.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 27th at 10:45 AM in Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA 02067. Those attending services should meet behind the administration building (Welcome Center) on the cemetery grounds prior to services. A Shiva and Celebration of Life will be held immediately following at the Randolph Elks Lodge, 21 School Street, Randolph, MA 02368.
Expressions of sympathy in Scott's memory may be donated to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue., Boston, MA 02215, 800.525.4669, dana-farber.org/give

I met Scott at pulmonary rehab when we were both on the double lung transplant list at the same hospital. Due to unforeseen circumstances and strict regulations, Scott was removed from the waiting list. Around that same time, I was blessed with my gift of new lungs. I would have totally understood if Scott no longer wanted to keep in touch with me, but that´s not who he was. He called me frequently, wanting to know how I was doing, and encouraging me when I hit a rough patch. When he called me last Sunday to let me know that he was not long for this world, I promised him that I would live my life with the same gusto and determination and positivity that he had during his time on earth. Rest in peace, Scott. You will be missed.

I met Scott many years ago when we worked at Empire Carpet together. He was always so kind, and a bunch of us went to many concerts together. I will hold those memories close to my heart always. My deepest condolences to his family and friends, and may his memory be a blessing.

Although I never got the chance to meet you, I felt as if I knew you through my son, Steve Mason your fellow Shaw´s co-worker and all the wonderful things he said while talking about you. I had started a prayers chain and was praying to my Patron St. Jude´s Novena and posted it on Facebook a few days ago, in hopes if praying for a miracle, only to sadly learn of his passing this morning. To Scott´s Family, Friends & former co-workers, I send my heartfelt condolences. May Scott Rest in the sweetest peace.

My deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones. Scott was like a brother to my brother and as such part of the family. He was a good man and will be sorely missed. Sleep peacefully, zoomie.
