Scott Kendall Hersee of Stoughton, MA, age 65, passed April 4, 2023, in his home, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Milton, MA to Carole Hersee and the late Willard Hersee.
A magnetic personality that was hard to miss, Scott was gregarious and larger than life. Those that knew him always said he was a true friend and had the biggest heart. One in a million. He could always find a way to make someone laugh or smile. Scott had a unique ability to see the hidden struggles of others and quietly help them in ways that impacted their lives. His generosity and kindness to friends and strangers alike was such a significant part of who he was.
Scott built his home and business in Stoughton over 40 years together with his wife Barbara. He referred to himself as 'the dirt guy' and could always be seen on a machine, whether front end loader, bull dozer, back hoe or excavator. He took the time to mentor, train and teach those that worked for him. He was an entrepreneur with great vision, where he, along with his son Scott, built the reputable local Hersee Equipment Inc., specializing in Water, Sewer and Septic services, which his son proudly continues to carry on the family tradition. He also had a passion and vision for revitalizing and developing real estate properties, appropriately his last project being a home rehabbed with love for his daughter Elizabeth.
Scott was an avid fisherman and lover of the sea. He enjoyed his seasonal Friday fishing trips with friends and summers in Marion boating with family and Sunday cruises around Cape Cod Bay.
Scotts family and friends certainly have a richer life because he was in it and he leaves them all with a wealth of memorable moments and experiences. There was no better husband, father, brother, son and friend than Scott Hersee and his spirit will be forever with us.
Scott was the loving and devoted husband to the late Barbara Hersee, loving father to Elizabeth Hersee Doolin, Scott Kendall and the late William John. Brother to the late John and Billy Hersee. Scott also leaves his mother, Carole Stepanek, sister, Christa Griffin and her husband Frank and beloved Maura Goodney, along with many other relatives and friends.
Visiting hours for Scott will be held at the Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington St (Rte 138) Easton on Tuesday, April 11th from 3:00 to 8:00pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
