Scott Michael Hicks, age 60, of Evart, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids.
He was born in Monroe, Michigan on March 28, 1965 to Clyde and Lucy (Sweat) Hicks. Scott graduated from Evart High School in 1983 and went on to work at Yoplait, in Reed City, for over 30 years.
Scott was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and remodeling projects- sometimes the whole home. He and companion, Christie had good memories of traveling the countryside and she'll always remember how attentive he could be, even when it put his own health at risk. Scott was known as the fun grandpa to his four grandchildren, who he was always doing something with.
Left to treasure the memories they have are: his companion of 16 years, Christie Bunker; three children, Scott (Courtney Lincoln) Michael Hicks II of Grand Lake, Colorado, Michael Gregory Hicks of Fraser, Colorado and Angela Lynn Schultz of Saginaw, Mi; grandchildren, Addison Morgan, Easton Ryder, Delaney Rose, and Colton Davis Schultz; Mother, Lucy Clawson; Uncle Dick Sweat; Aunt Barb Sweat; half brother, Greg Hicks; step siblings, Tonya (Mingo) Forbes, and Quincy Kadwell and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.
Scott was preceded in death by: his father, Clyde Hicks; stepdad, Wayne Clawson; grandparents, Roscoe (Hylie) Sweat and Matthew (Joe) Hicks.
Memorial contributions in Scott's name can be made to Whitetails Unlimited.
Funeral services for Scott will take place at 2PM on Thursday, October 16th at the Corey Funeral Home in Evart, Michigan visitation two hours prior (12PM TO 2PM).
Scott will be laid to rest at 2 PM Friday at Woodland Cemetery in Monroe, Michigan. Share with the family online at www.coreyfuneralhome.com.
