Scott L. Johnson, better known as little cowboy, Smokey, and Tater Tot, age 53, passed peacefully, surrounded by family, at UAB hospital, in Birmingham, AL, on September 3, 2024. Visitation will be Friday September 6 from 6-8pm at Mortimer Funeral home in Greenville, MS, and from 1-2pm on Saturday, September 7 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Greenville, MS. Funeral will be at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Saturday, September 7 at 2pm and interment will follow immediately after at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
Scott was born to James and Josie Johnson on September 15, 1970 in Leland, MS.
Scott was a member of Masonic Lodge #206 in Greenville, MS and Widows Son Masonic Riders Association. He worked at Greenville Port Terminal as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Josie M. Johnson, and two sons, Scottie L. Johnson, Jr and Casey S. Johnson.
He is survived by his father, James O. Johnson of Greenville, MS, his wife Christi Miles Johnson, of Benoit, MS, 3 children, Zachary D. Johnson of Little Rock, Arkansas, Bransen L. McCain, of Benoit, MS, Erin V. McCain, of Benoit, MS, 3 siblings, Tony(Kim) Nance, of Divernon, IL, Wayne(Brenda) Johnson, of Greenville, MS, Kay(Todd) Sipes, of Greenville, Ms, a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and his chosen family, his brothers and sisters of the Widows Sons.
Scott was passionate about supporting all children's hospitals and flowers can be sent to Mortimer Funeral home.
