Scott Laundree Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home on Jun. 23, 2025.
Scott A. Laundree, 64, of Marinette, passed away on June 19, 2025, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay. He was born on October 23, 1960, in Marinette, the son of Walter and Carol (Vaness) Laundree.

Scott grew up in Marinette and graduated from Marinette High School in 1979. On December 1, 1979, he married his high school sweetheart Wendy Krenos at Zion Lutheran Church in Marinette, and they shared over 45 wonderful years together.

Scott was a dedicated employee of Waupaca Foundry, where he worked as a quality representative. Outside of work, he was a true outdoorsman who loved adventures and sharing in those adventures with his wife, family, and many friends. He especially enjoyed fishing trips/turkey scouting with his wife, bird hunting with his son, spending time around countless campfires, taking his grandkids tubing at Badger Park, turkey hunting with his squad, fishing with his buddies, deer hunting with his brother, camping at Rosebush, gatherings at Seagull Bar, boating and four-wheeling, amongst much more. He was an avid Packers, Badger, and wrestling fan. His happiest moments were those spent with family and friends. Above all, Scott treasured time with his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. Affectionately known as Grandpa Shrimp, he cherished the sleepovers he had with them in which he would make popcorn in his popcorn machine, play virtual reality games, and take several dips in the hot tub. They were the light of his life, and he was theirs.

Scott lived life to the fullest and had a special gift in spreading joy to those around him - be it with his contagious smile, laughter, stories, or through the creative nicknames he had for those around him. Together we grieve, but we also celebrate the compassion he inspired, the generosity that touched us, and the love that forever changed our hearts.

In keeping with Scott's loving and generous spirit, it was his decision to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.

Scott is survived by his wife, Wendy Laundree; 2 daughters, Nicole (Scott) Swanson and Kayla (Kyle) Ford; 1 son, Brandon (Jennifer) Laundree; 8 grandchildren: Hailey Swanson, Aubrie Swanson, Kamryn Swanson, Ethan Ford, Eliana Ford, Emmett Ford, Quinn Laundree, and Cora Laundree; his mother, Carol Peterson; 3 brothers, Tim Peterson, Al (Julie) Peterson, and Steve (Kelly) Johnson; 4 sisters, Sandy (Joseph) Boburka, Cheryl (Michael) Finger, Debra (Kevin) Krouth, and Denise (Peter) Lemieux; 14 extraordinarily special nieces and nephews; and countless lifelong friends. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Walter Laundree; 1 sister, Germaine Peterson; and 1 infant brother, Michael Laundree.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home from 1 until 3 p.m. A Time of Sharing will begin at 2:30 p.m., where family and friends are invited to share memories and stories in Scott's honor. A Celebration of Life in true 'Scott style' is to follow at Badger Park in Peshtigo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Scott's name to the Ruffed Grouse Society/American Woodcock Society (RGS & AWS).
