Scott Alan Levin, 60, of Edina died peacefully at home on November 12, 2022 surrounded by the love of his family. Scott fought courageously with the cancer that ended his life. He was born on August 23, 1962 in Minneapolis to Sheldon and Carol Levin. He graduated from Minnetonka High School in 1980, and went on to attend the University of Minnesota, graduating with a degree in Business Finance. Later Scott earned his MBA from St. Thomas University.
Scott was united in marriage to Joan Anderson on August 19th, 1989 at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, MN. They have three children, Blake and wife, Kelli, Maria and Julia, and grandson, Theo.
Scott was highly motivated, generous, ambitious, and well-regarded by colleagues. He was the founder and CEO of MidDel Consulting, beginning in 2005. He served those who followed him through a mentorship program at St. Thomas.
Scott was active at Normandale Lutheran Church and Bible Study Fellowship at Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie. His faith meant so much to him, trusting in God to see him through this cancer journey, and now welcoming him home.
Scott loved life, especially in the way he loved his children and grandson. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.
Scott enjoyed cooking, with a passion that saw to every menu detail. He was known for his famous barbecued ribs, which were served up at the cabin every 4th of July. He loved fishing, hiking, biking, watersports and working out, and loved a good conversation by the firepit, with a Scotch and a good cigar. When he needed to relax, he was an avid sports fan, and truth be told, we believe he had a hand in the Vikings win over the Bills last Sunday.
Scott expanded his knowledge with his voracious interest in WWII, digesting large volume historical writings. As recently as last summer, he fulfilled a bucket list opportunity, riding co-pilot in a WWII P51 Mustang fighter plane in Palm Springs.
Scott loved to see different places around the world and was always planning his next trip. As a member of an entrepreneur's organization board, he had opportunities to engage global travel to Greece, Cambodia, and Panama, alongside numerous family trips.
Scott shared his love for Boys Scouts with his son, Blake, as members of Troop 68. He developed many strong bonds with other Scout Dads and troop members. He was a merit badge leader and Pinewood Derby enthusiast.
Scott lived with integrity, as a husband, father, friend, and colleague, living out his core value and belief to say what you mean and mean what you say, always following through with what you say you will do.
And when cancer sapped every ounce of his energy, his smile shone through at the sight of Theo, his beloved grandson. Blessed be Scott's memory!
He is preceded in death by his Father, Sheldon Levin, his in laws, Leland and Phyllis Anderson. He survived by wife, Joan, children Blake(Kelli), Maria, Julia, and grandson, Theo, his mother, Carol Levin,
sisters, Wendy Overway(Jeff), and Mara. Siblings in law, Linnea(Greg), Clifford, Dwight, and Jeanne Anderson, Ross Anderson(Carrie), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to American Cancer Society and Normandale Housing Corporation.
The service for Scott will be held on Monday, November 21, 11:00 am at Normandale Lutheran Church in Edina, 6100 Normandale Road, 55436. The service will be preceded by a visitation at 9:30 am, and followed by a luncheon at the church. The burial will take place at Dawn Valley Cemetery in Bloomington.

I enjoyed every time I had an opportunity to work with Scott and his team over the years. I admired his entrepreneurial spirit and his industry knowledge. He is missed! My deepest condolences to his family!

Scott was a great colleague of many people at Control Systems. I have great memories of his love of sport and his pure disbelieve that I spent so little time tracking my fantasy football team. Or the time we went up to the North Shore of Lake Superior to go salmon fishing and we had absolutely no clue as to what we were doing. (We did play cribbage well into the night.)

I knew Scott as a caring and fun person, someone who constantly want to learn, do right and be respected. He was an honest and respected person. A person I still call friend even though time and distance have separated us since the Control Systems days.

Scott was the founding commissioner of the Control Systems fantasy football league back in the days when drafts were done on white boards. Every Monday and Tuesday morning, Scott meticulously scoured the Star Tribune boxscores to record TD's, yardage, PAT's, ... for each team. His reporting was flawless. In the spring, Scott was our softball manager ... and like FFL, he took the job seriously and was not afraid to pull pitchers or change the line up. Most importantly, Scott was just a great guy who was always honest and loyal to family, friends and co-workers.
