Scott Steven Maynard, age 61, of Grants Pass, died March 10, 2024 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center after a long fight with cancer. Scott was born to parents Reginald and Violet Maynard, January 19, 1963 in San Luis Obispo, California.
Scott married the love of his life Debra, July 22, 2005 in Reno, Nevada, and they were together for 25 years. Together they had four children, Shannon Nazarenko, Jon Paul Carr, James Maynard, and Christopher Maynard.
He was an accomplished man who drove over one million miles for A&M transport with 15 years of safe driving records. When he wasn’t on the road, he loved surrounding himself with his family; children, grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. His other hobbies included fishing, camping, floating the Rogue River, the beach, and listening to music. Scott had a contagious smile and will be greatly missed by all.
Scott is survived by his wife Debra; children Shannon Nazarenko (Sacramento, CA), Jon Paul Carr (Grants Pass, OR), James Maynard (Grants Pass, OR), Christopher Maynard (Hawaii); mother Violet Maynard (Chester, CA); grandchildren LillyAnne Carr (Grants Pass, OR), Alayna Carr (Grants Pass, OR), Natalie Nazarenko (Sacramento, CA), Alex Nazarenko (Sacramento, CA), Emily Maynard (Hawaii); Sisters Dian (Chester, CA), Jean (Chester, CA), Terry (Westwood, CA), Kim (Chester, CA), Cindy (Sacramento, CA), Billy (Chester, CA), Marty (Chester, CA), Jackie (Terrebonne, OR); brother Art Broughton (Westwood, CA); cousin Mike Maynard (Grants Pass, OR); and many nieces and nephews.
Scott is preceded in death by brothers James Maynard and Robbie Maynard; sister Betty Hutson; and father Reginald Maynard.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to make donations to Debra Maynard, 233 Rogue River Hwy #262, Grants Pass, OR 97527.
A memorial Service will be held on May 4, 2024 in Grants Pass, followed by a celebration of life to take place in Chester, California on July 12, 2024. Please contact the family for details.
