Scott Alan Mitchell went home to be with his savior, Jesus Christ, on February 1, 2026 at the age of 70.

Scott was born on March 27, 1955, to Melvin and Lou Mitchell, in Riverside, California.

He was the only boy of five children and grew up in a military family. Scott made friends wherever he lived. Some of his favorite childhood memories were the years he lived in Hawaii.

Scott graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1973. He went on to enjoy a lifetime career as a skilled carpenter, working as a custom cabinet maker for Ability Cabinets, in Murray.

After retirement, Scott continued his life of service as a volunteer for the animal shelter and food pantry, to name a few.

Scott was very loved, and will be remembered for his excellent work ethic, kindness, generosity and great sense of humor. He loved his family, friends and all animals. Whenever anyone asked Scott how he was doing, his positive attitude reflected in his answer, "I'm always good, because I'm blessed every day."

Scott is survived by his four sisters, Cathy (Dennis) Mills, Sherry (Javier) Martinez, Pamela Meadows, and Janet Mitchell. Nephews, Jonathan Scott Mills, Joshua (Nicole) Mills, Jacob (Michelle) Orton and Justin (Megan) Mills and nieces, Breann Orton and Chelsea (Jory) Fivekiller. Great nephews/nieces, Lawson Mills, Lily Wik, Brady Fivekiller and Lilyanna Orton.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Scott's family would like to express appreciation to each of his caring friends, including Lillie and Paula, and to the staff at Sandy Health and Rehab and to Bristol Hospice.

A graveside memorial will be held at Midvale City Cemetery at a later date, for family and friends. Date pending.
