Scott Gerard Motz suddenly passed away on April 27th at the age of 58. Scott was born on October 21, 1966, in St. Johns, MI, and was the son of Arthur and Rita (Sturm) Motz. Scott graduated from St. John's High School and pursued an Associate Degree at Ferris State University. Scott and his childhood friend started their own commercial construction business after college, building an empire of a company. He was a proud business owner and loved his work family. Scott married the love of his life, Stacie, in 2004, where he took on the role of being another dad to Ashley. The three of them enjoyed their life in Ferndale, but Scott missed life on the farm. The three of them trekked to Fowlerville, where they were welcomed by an amazing community, many of whom are considered family. Soon came Maggie, and they enjoyed many family adventures, rustic camping trips, cooking competitions, and life on the farm. Being the loudest in the room, Scott was at every single dance recital, tennis match, FFA, and 4-H event. Scott was the best husband, girl dad, brother, uncle, and friend. Scott loved farming, his cattle, and enjoyed giving back to the community.
Scott is survived by his wife Stacie, beloved daughters Ashley and Magdalen, siblings Marilynn McDermott and William (Pat), and several beautiful nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Rita, and siblings Jerry, Rosemary, and Pamela Sheridan.
A visitation will be held at Herrmann Funeral Home in Fowlerville on Saturday, May 3rd, from 3pm - 7pm. A celebration of his life is being planned for this summer.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Motz Family Memorial Scholarship Fund. Checks can be made out to Fowlerville Community Schools. Memo: Motz Memorial
