For everything there is a season.
Scott Nielson, 66, of Arthur, passed away on March 6, 2024, at the Ogallala Community Hospital. He was born January 10, 1958 to Dale Nielson and Verna Valentine. To this union, Scott gained a brother, Von and a sister, Vicki.
He grew up on ranches around Arthur, attended Arthur Elementary and some country schools, then graduated from Arthur High School in 1976. He then attended Mid Plains Community College for Mechanics.
Scott had several ranch jobs and at Lake Mconaughy. He was an excellent fencer. There are many of his creations around the Sandhills that will survive the sands of time. Later in life he was employed by Consolidated Telephone Company and thoroughly enjoyed his work there. He greatly valued his Consolidated friendships.
Scott loved team roping, road trips, and visiting with friends. He was a hard-working, determined guy who could build or fix and repair just about anything.
Please give memorials in Scott's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
