Obituary published on Legacy.com by Broussard's Mortuary - Major Drive on Aug. 2, 2022.
Scott "Skip" Dwayn Peppo, 65, of Beaumont, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, peacefully at his home. He was born on April 11, 1957, to Lorena Wayne Young Peppo and Clinton Raymond Peppo, Sr., in Beaumont.
He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Christopher Peppo.
Survivors include his wife, Jami Peppo; daughter, Danielle Jacks and her husband, Bryan, of Denham Springs, Louisiana; sons, Shawn Byars, Randy Byars and his wife, Mary and Barry Byars, all of Beaumont; sister, Patricia Harrington of Houston; brother, Clinton Peppo, Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Pasadena; grandchildren, Taylor Weatherford and Easton Jacks, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nephew, Clint Peppo and his wife, Chloe, of Wylie; and a host of friends.
Skip graduated from Beaumont High in 1975 and started working in HVAC service shortly after. Skip was a reserve Sheriff Deputy for Jefferson County and then became a full time Deputy with more than 15 years of service at his retirement in 2022.
His early hobbies included recreational cycling, which led him to participate in many organized cycling events and rides for charity. As a firearm enthusiast, he never missed a chance to talk about and show off his collection and looked forward to going to the gun range with family and friends.
Skip enjoyed traveling with Jami and experiencing the local flair of each area they visited. As wine enthusiasts, they liked touring local wineries.
Skip was a very proud Pops. He supported his grandkids at dance recitals, Confirmation, powerlifting meets, graduation, and many more activities special to them.
A gathering of Mr. Peppo's family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m., with his memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m., Friday, August 5, 2022, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard's Crematorium, Beaumont.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The 100 Club of Southeast Texas, P.O. Box 3405, Beaumont, Texas 77704 or online at https://100clubsetx.com/. This organization assists fallen police officers, widows/widowers and their families, and the families of first responders.
