MOUNT VERNON, MAINE
Scott Arthur Peterson, 52, of Mt. Vernon, Maine passed away peacefully Friday, May 23, 2025. Scott was born on July 14, 1972 in Augusta, Maine, son of Gail (Boyle) and Gilbert Peterson. Raised in Augusta, he graduated from Cony High School in 1991 and Thomas College in 1999.
Scott was employed as an independent contractor as a tax accountant for the Maine Revenue Service.
Scott is survived by his significant other, Josette Poulin; his mother Gail Ewing of Sebastian, FL; his father Gil Peterson of Readfield; his grandfather Arthur Boyle of Barefoot Bay, FL; his brother Andrew and his daughter Hope of Sarasota, FL; and his sister Laurie Warren, her husband Simeon and daughters Isabelle and Cecilia of Natchitoches, LA.
Also surviving are his two stepdaughters Katelyn True of Winthrop and grandson Jace Brooke and Kurstyn True of Mt. Vernon and grandson Thomas Gibbs.
Scott was predeceased by his grandmother Doris Boyle and sister-in-law Michelle Peterson.
Scott was a Maine boy through and through. Fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle, and snowmobiling, he loved it all.
The very best years of his life was the last four with Josette, living out in the country in the cozy house they shared. He was blessed to have that time. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Scott enjoyed reading, swimming, kayaking, boating, sitting in the sun, watching the hummingbirds, football, and spending time with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PALS, 188 Case Rd, Winthrop, ME 04364 or a favorite local charity in memory of Scott.
Celebration of Life will be Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Augusta VFW, 509 Leighton Road from 1:00pm until 4:00pm.
