Scott Anthony Rego passed away peacefully on May 14, 2023, one day shy of his 56th birthday. Scott was born in Fremont, California on May 15th, 1967 to George and Lorraine Rego. He was raised in Fremont and attended Irvington High School, Class of 86.
Scott met Nancy Sappington at Irvington High School. They would go on to marry and have two children, Tony and Lorri. After high school Scott began a career as a Teamster truck driver, first for ME Fox in San Jose, and later for Roadway Express in Milpitas. Scott also had an entrepreneurial spirit and started his own landscape construction and design company, where he created beautiful landscapes for a variety of clients over the years. He then went to work alongside his childhood friend Jerry Foster where he became a knowledgeable and respected project manager in the restoration field. In 2010 Scott joined BELFOR Property Restoration, where he worked at the time of his passing.
Scott was a devoted family member and friend. His priority was always his family and most importantly his children, Tony and Lorri, and his granddaughter Maggie Sue. He supported his children in any interest they had growing up and coached their CYO basketball teams for Santa Paula and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Scott was a huge sports fan and loved his favorite teams the San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors. He loved nothing more than watching a game with friends and family. He was also a talented drummer and enjoyed a wide variety of music. He passed his love of music along to his kids who are also musicians.
Scott was incredibly generous and would help anyone with anything at the drop of a hat. He had a knack for making friends and had a personality that won people over as soon as they met him. Scott had a true gift for making people smile and we will miss his spirit dearly.
Scott is preceded in death by his Mother Lorraine. He is survived by his loving companion Diane Orsetti; father George Rego; mother Lela Rego; son Tony Rego (Teresa); daughter Lorri Rego (Kasey); granddaughter Maggie Sue Rego; sisters Robin Webster (Rich), Donna Armijo, Mona Durney (Jim); brothers Dennis Rego (Cyndie), Richard Rego (Amy), Joey Armijo (Amy); first wife Nancy Diaz; countless cousins; nephews; nieces; other family; and the many people whose lives he brought joy and love to.
