On May 17 2025, (age 63) Scott Vaughn Riggs, Husband, father, son and brother changed his address to Heaven. "But," he said, "I'm pretty sure the post office won't forward my mail." We could try..
Scott loved the great outdoors: jeeping, camping, fishing, hunting, driving and/or picnicking.
Scott was a "gentle giant" his whole life and was known, from his school years and onward, as "Tiny / Tyknee" Even as a teenager, younger children were drawn to him. Younger siblings, cousins, his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews were drawn like a magnet to his warm, funny, personality and always wanted to be lifted "high up". They spent many hours or days hanging out with Scott, doing all of his favorite outdoor activities, and sharing private moments. His great nieces and nephews called him GUS (Grandpa Uncle Scott).
He was a hard worker his whole life. His nick name as a teenager was "Pick & Dig" Riggs given to him by his mother when he helped bring the family's yard from a gravel pit to his mother's dream garden. A neighbor saw what a hard worker he was and offered Scott his first construction job when he was 17.
He continued working in the construction industry until he retired.
He was Santa's helper for many years and passed on the children's Christmas wishes to Santa after all the parties where he wore the Santa Suit and beard.
Scott always had a quick sense of humor and was a great tease throughout his life. That endeared him to all the people in his life and kept us all laughing.
He married into a ready made family when he was in his early 20's, making him an instant dad. When his daughter also married a man with children from a previous relationship, it made Scott an instant grandpa, a role he embraced and reveled in. At only 36 years old, he LOVED telling people that he was the grandfather of a 9 year old just to see their shocked looks! He thought that was a great joke!!
Scott was born September 8, 1961, oldest son of C. Vaughn and Marlene Moulton Riggs
He married Edith Diane Zupan on Jan 7, 1983 and became a father to two "ready made" children. Later they had two self made children.
Later in life, he was blessed a second time when he met Cyndi Clemesha. He said he was drawn to her because "she was hungry and he liked her tattoos." They were married on March 12 2022, and for the second time in his life, he gained more bonus children and grandchildren as well!
Scott is proceeded in death by his wife Diane, daughter Sharon Tuttle, mother Marlene, Grandparents Alma & Hilda Moulton and Charles "C. H." & LaVaun Riggs.
He is survived by his wife, Cyndi Weaver Riggs, father, Charles Vaughn, his 7 children: Sharlene (Uel) Tuttle Archuletta, Sara Riggs, Travis Riggs, James (Andrea) Clemesha,, Gwen Clemesha, Autumn (Brian) Jones, and Bethany (Montgomery) Helmner. 14 grandchildren: Uel Jr. (Erin), Chantelle, Zakery(Emma), Jarek (McKay), Ethan (Sadie), Aurora Archuletta. Charlotte Fry, Henry Fry, Calvin Clemesha, Hudson Clemesha, Ryan Jones, Landon Jones, Addilyn Jones, and Magnus Helmner.
Siblings: Jennifer (David) McMurtrie, Michelle (Mitchell) Lacy, Julie (Guy) Lewis, Melanie Fuller, Nathan (Shelly) Riggs, Brian (Katie) Riggs, Sherri (David) Somers and numerous nieces and nephews.
