Scott Rushe Obituary

Scott Thomas Rushe

November 23, 1967 - September 14, 2025

Julian, Pennsylvania - Scott Thomas Rushe, a man whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, unexpectedly passed away in Julian, PA, on September 14, 2025, at the age of 57. Born on November 23, 1967, in Homestead, PA, Scott was the beloved son of Tom and the late Patricia Rushe and a caring brother to Brian Rushe (Shelly) and Jeff Rushe (Susan). In June of 1999 Scott married his best friend and the love of his life Angie Grdanski-Rushe. Scott felt blessed with the joy and companionship of nephews Mike, Nick, Nate, and Jake, along with Rick and Dave Pomycala. Scott adored his fur babies, Divot and Skeet (both deceased), and Jax and Ripp, who brought endless joy to his life. Scott's extended family included his close cousins, Brent, Terri and Beth with whom he shared countless memories of the good times at the Mosquito Lodge.

A proud graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Scott earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agronomy, a field that allowed him to blend his passion for the outdoors with his professional endeavors. Scott's stringent work ethic started while very young working for a family business and it continued as he worked diligently throughout college. His first career job as the Assistant Superintendent at The Penn State Golf Courses set him on a path of service and leadership that he would follow for a decade. His career would further evolve as he became a well-respected Sales Representative and consultant in the commercial seed industry for 25 years. His expertise and approachable nature allowed him to build long lasting collaborations and meaningful friendships.

Our avid outdoorsman Scotty, held great respect for nature, whether he was casting a line as a fly fisherman, pursuing deer with archery or rifle in hand, or calling in turkeys. He found great joy hunting pheasants over his dogs and reminiscing about his snow skiing adventures during his college years. His commitment to wildlife conservation was evident in his decade-long involvement with the Ruffed Grouse Society State College chapter banquet committee. Beyond the thrill of the hunt, Scott appreciated digging in the soil and cultivating his garden to create delectable salsa and sauces.

Those who knew Scott understood that his friendly demeanor was just the surface of his profoundly selfless and kind nature and his generous heart. We will forever grieve the loss this wonderful man.
