Mr. Scott M. Smith, of Waltham, died Monday, November 18, 2024 in Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston following an illness. He was 69.
Scott was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 22, 1955, a son of the late Lawrence and Catherine (Kinsella) Smith. As a child his family moved to Waltham where he remained a resident ever since. A 1974 graduate of Waltham High School he continued his education at the Massachusetts College of Art. He worked as a house painter and held various positions at Polaroid, ADP, and Fabtron until his retirement.
Scott was a talented artist and loved visiting the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. In his spare time he was an amateur watercolor painter and also enjoyed music, fishing, and cooking. In addition he was a proud member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1018 in Waltham where he made many friends.
In addition to his parents Scott was predeceased by his brother, Craig Smith.
He leaves his daughter, Alicia Smith of Waltham; his sisters, Laurie Arnold of Milford, Susan Iarossi of Virginia, Dorothy Harvey of Tucson, Arizona, and Dede Kelly of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Scott’s life by gathering for an Evening Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Tuesday, December 3rd from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
