Obituary published on Legacy.com by Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. - Victor on Jun. 5, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Scott S. Sprague, who left this world on June 2, 2025, at the age of 64. Born August 18, 1960, in Canandaigua, NY, Scott passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service that touched countless lives throughout his community and beyond.
Scott is predeceased by his beloved parents, Harold and Elva Sprague; father-in-law, Richard Abrahamson and brother-in-law Daniel Abrahamson. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Diane Abrahamson Sprague, who was his college sweetheart and lifelong companion. Scott was a devoted father to his children: Matt Sprague, Nate (Olivia) Sprague, Kathryn Sprague, and Laura (Seth) Urckfitz. He was a cherished grandfather to Ryan Scott Urckfitz and Daniel Robert Sprague, who brought immense joy to his later years.
Scott is also survived by his siblings James Sprague (Christine) Sprague, Patricia (Dr. Donald) Welsh, his mother-in-law Patricia Abrahamson, and his extended family including sister-in-law Pam (Sean) Bice, brother-in-law Todd (Kathy) Abrahamson, and sister-in-law Stephanie Abrahamson; several nieces and nephews; many extended family members and dear friends.
Scott graduated from Red Jacket High School and went on to earn his BS in Industrial Technology from SUNY Oswego, where he met Diane, who would become his devoted wife. This education became the foundation for a distinguished career spanning over four decades in technology and IoT solutions.
Professionally, Scott was a respected leader in the connected technology industry. He began his career at NESCO Service Company, serving as Eastern Regional Vice President from 1982 to 2001. He later joined Integron Inc., where he served as Vice President of Connected Health Solutions until his retirement in 2024.
Scott's commitment to service extended far beyond his professional life. He was an active and valued member of his community, serving as a board member for Victor Farmington Food Cupboard, on the Victor School Board, and as an Elder at Willowbrook Christian Church. His generous spirit and willingness to help others made him a pillar of his community.
Those who knew Scott will remember him as kind, loving, caring, and generous. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for his many "Scott Sprague-isms," including his famous saying about always being "right around the corner" and his patented "Scott Sprague re-direct," where he would skillfully bail someone out of a conversation that was headed off the rails. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was golfing with friends, fishing on tranquil lakes, maintaining his lawn, boating with family or grilling delicious meals for loved ones.
Above all, Scott treasured his family. He approached every relationship with the same integrity and care that marked his professional endeavors, and his love for his wife, children, and grandchildren was evident to all who knew him.
Scott's life was a testament to the power of dedication, service, and love. He will be deeply missed by his many extended family members, friends, and all whose lives he touched through his professional work and community involvement. His spirit will continue to inspire us as we carry forward his legacy of compassion, dedication, and love.
