Scott Lee Taylor, age 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Mt. Juliet, TN on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
Scott, known to most as Pappy, was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He logged many an hour with a grandkid on his lap, and he always had candy on hand when the little ones were around.
Scott was a master drywaller who owned his own drywall business for over 40 years. When he wasn’t mudding, taping, or perfecting his seams, he was at home spending time with his family.
His happiest moments were spent tinkering around in his garage or watching NASCAR races on a Sunday.
Scott is survived by his wife and best friend of 42 years Faye Taylor; his three children, Chasity Faye (Brett) Goodner, Rick (Janine) Dunnam, and Ashley Nichole Schrader; five grandchildren who thought Pappy hung the moon, Madison (Joe) Hardin, Hannah Faye Goodner, Tripp (Sierra) Dunnam, John Dunnam, and Gabriel Dunnam; and two great grandchildren Belladonna and Wesley Hardin. Scott also leaves behind his sister, Carla (Stephen) Foster and Richard (Jackie) Taylor, as well as his brother-in-law, Larry (Susan) Reeves. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl Taylor and Rita Qualls, as well as his younger brother Keith Taylor.
His spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Start your engines, Pappy — heaven’s track is waiting.
