Scott Austin Varner, 33, of Crawfordville, died unexpectedly February 3, 2025.
Scott was born in Tallahassee Florida on January 13, 1992. He grew up in Wakulla, and he most recently resided in Panama City, Florida. Scott graduated from Wakulla High School in 2010. He was a 2-time State Champ and a NHSCA Senior Nationals All-American in Wrestling. Scott went to college but in time, Scott found he enjoyed Concrete Construction, looking back on each job and having the feeling of accomplishment. He met Krystel and blessed us with our beautiful grandbaby Illaya. Scott loved spending time with family, being anywhere on the water, from fishing, paddle boarding, scalloping, wake boarding, to water skiing. He was known for his competitive and adventurous spirit with a deep love for God.
He will be remembered by his parents Mark & Loretta Varner, grandmother Teresa Lockwood, grandfather Pat Burns, daughter Illaya Lynn Walsh, and sisters Jessica Rehr & Lacie Blackburn. He is preceded in death by his birth mother, Wendy Burns.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 2:00-3:00 pm at Family Funeral Home at Harvey Young Chapel and the Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow at West Sopchoppy Cemetery.
Skip & Trey Young along with Paula and Kimberly are caring and assisting the family.

Scottie Loved the Water and the Gulf was his home. His time on St. George Island was where his friends greeted him ...sharing good times. He talked about his wrestling years in high school and his coach which he respected and admired. His Father and Uncle Johnny were dear to him... as he shared the good times with family. Being with friends on SGI was his home and we will miss him.
Scott was a great tradesman in the Concrete World and was very ambitious about the concrete industry.
Thanks for being a friend to my family and sharing all our adventures.
Scott you are home and at Peace and we will think of you often.
