Scott Alan Wollangur, 58, of Cheboygan, passed away peacefully at the Cheboygan Harmony House on August 29, 2025. He was born on June 27, 1967 in Cheboygan to Roger and Pamela (Cardinal) Wollangur and raised in Cheboygan.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pamela Wollangur. Surviving is his wife, Gina (Daniels) Wollangur; stepdaughter, Tricia Vieau; son and daughter-in-law, Jacob and Alexandrea (Eaton) Wollangur; and his grandsons, Oliver and Finnegan Wollangur. Also surviving are his father, Roger Wollangur, and sister, Wendy (Wollangur) Nycz.

Scott graduated in 1985 from Cheboygan Area High School and spent his lifelong work in marine construction. During his free time, he enjoyed vegetable gardening, rock hounding, morel mushroom picking, fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. He always had a smile, kind words, and a great sense of humor to share with others.

Scott asked that no memorial service be held, but to thank everyone who reached out to him as his health gradually and steadily declined from a hereditary degenerative health condition; spinocerebellar ataxia type-3 (SCA-3), also known as Machado-Joseph disease (MJD). His words, "Remember me for who I was, not what I'd become."

In lieu of flowers and such, memorial contributions are encouraged to be offered as random acts of kindness toward others or to an organization of your choice.
