Mrs. Vera Scottie Piwinski, 72 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at her home on March 3, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born in Mangum, Oklahoma to the late, Lloyd and Vera (Vancent) Smith on September 18, 1952. Formerly of Boca Raton and Daytona Beach, Florida she has resided in Atlanta for the last five years. Vera was always positive, strong and independent. She left impressions anywhere she went with whomever she met. She loved the beach and to feel the sun on her face on a hot summer day. She enjoyed reading, writing poetry, animals, gardening, and cooking. She had a great sense of humor and a heart of gold. She is and will be deeply missed.
Vera is remembered by her loving husband, Leonard Piwinski; daughter, Kim (Jon) Peterson; son, Chris “Bubba” Wiggers; grandchildren, Christopher Wiggers, Morgan Wiggers, Sheyla DeFranco, Jon (Susan) Peterson, Jake (Rosa) Peterson; great-grandchildren, Ava, Layla, Brantley, Leo, Luna, Lincoln, London, Lucy, Emily, and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Vera Smith; and great-granddaughter, Stella.
As were her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Vera privately at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to be sent to the Humane Society of the donor’s choice
