It is with deep sadness that the family of Scotty Gene Joseph Comeaux announces his passing on March 11, 2025. Born on December 17, 1975, in Gueydan, Louisiana, Scotty spent most of his life in Lafayette, Louisiana, where he embraced his rich Cajun heritage and love for community.
Scotty was a social soul, always eager to chat, meet new people, and strike up a spirited debate. A proud Cajun, he never hesitated to prove he could "outcook" anyone who dared to challenge him. Growing up, he enjoyed playing baseball and could be found every summer participating in the AGS Jr Golf Classic. He also loved attending festivals and following ULL baseball. He even dabbled in wrestling with his uncle, Joey Comeaux (aka Gorgeous Joey Jackson), in Portland, Oregon. He loved working and spending time with his cousin, Toby Comeaux. One of Scotty's favorite memories to share was from the summer of 1994 at Astroworld, where he delighted park guests by entertaining them as Bugs Bunny or Foghorn Leghorn.
He recognized his children, Sophia and Rocco, as his greatest achievements, and he was extremely proud of their accomplishments. A graduate of Northside High School, Scotty later served his country proudly in the United States Air Force.
Scotty is survived by his children, Sophia and Rocco; his parents, Pearly and Clyde Lemaire; sister, Teffany Comeaux-Ibarra (brother-in-law Emmanuel Ibarra); brother, Kevin Comeaux; stepbrother, Earl Moore; godchild, Kalani Ibarra; niece, Cheyanne Ibarra; nephew, Ayden Comeaux; and the mother of his children, Jessica Crochet.
Scotty was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Comeaux; stepmother, Elaine Comeaux, step brother, Jonathan Ward Lemaire and grandparents JB and Iva Deen Comeaux, Adam and Mable Joyce Adams, and Lovelace and Thelma Lemaire.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Louisiana Funeral Services and Crematory (108 Hardware Road, Broussard, LA 70518), with a service beginning at 6 p.m.
Scotty's family and friends will forever remember his warm smile, lively spirit, and unstoppable passion for a good conversation. May we honor his memory by embracing life with the same enthusiasm he so generously shared with others.
