Funeral services for Scotty Ray Poole, age 63 of Olla will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, July 8, 2024, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Olla with Rev. Buster Duplissey officiating. Interment will follow in the Olla Cemetery under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Olla. The Poole Family will receive visitors on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the church.
Scotty Ray Poole was born on May 8,1961, to the union of his parents, Clifton Ray Poole and Bonnie Merle Jones Poole, in McComb, Mississippi. He passed from this life on July 4, 2024, at the Oschner Medical Center in Shreveport following an extended illness. Scotty was a graduate of the 1979 Class of LaSalle High School. He owned and operated S & H Logging Company in Olla and he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cleve and Onie Jones and Woody and Mamie Poole and his brother-in-law, Mike Routon. He was a huge fan of the Saints, the Cubs, and the LSU Tigers.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Helen Poole of Olla; his parents, Clifton Ray and Bonnie Poole of Olla; his son, Jordy Poole (Morgan) of Olla; daughter, Jennifer Aycock of Olla; two sisters, Cherry Routon of Olla and Kelli McIlwain (John) of Grayson; his grandchildren: Ennslee Poole and Clate Poole, Harlee and Alayna Nowlin, and Parker Aycock ,as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers Richard Davis, Steve Tannehill, Warren Roshto, Greg Black, Ronnie Cruse, Mark Bailey, Bull Barnhill and Bradley Adams. Honorary pallbearers include Clate Poole, Parker Aycock, John McIlwain, Cole McIlwain, Drew Routon, Drew Adams, Sam Routon and Bud Wilson.
In lieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, P.O. Box 1525, Ranson, WV 25438.
The Poole Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Oschner Medical Center and Hardtner Medical Center for the excellent care that was provided to Scotty during his illness and the love extended to all the family during this traumatic time.
