Sean Patrick Day, 42, passed away peacefully at the Hampton Veterans Association Hospital with some of his oldest friends by his side on June 18th, 2025 in the early morning hours after a battle with pancreatic cancer. A service and interment of ashes will be held at Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA at later date.
Born in Allentown, PA, on April 20th, 1983. He is a graduate of LE Dieruff High School in Allentown, PA. He joined the US Navy in 2001 where he served as Fire Controlman maintaining the various weapon systems aboard Navy vessels and served shore duty teaching at the Great Lakes training school. Upon leaving the Navy in 2012, he joined Huntington-Ingalls Industries where he was able to continue teaching and building training programs for future sailors.
He was preceded by his parents Patrick (Pete) Michael Day and Joan Ann Day (Lewis).
He is survived by his children, Damien and Krystal Day, his fiancé Melissa (Pip) Willis, his siblings Katherine Flecksteiner and Bridget Day, as well as many beloved family and friends.
In life, he enjoyed a myriad of social activities; tabletop roleplaying games such as Dungeons and Dragons, Vampire the Masquerade, and Werewolf the Apocalypse; playing airsoft and video games with his friends and children; and, gardening in his yard for a little quiet contentment and some home-grown vegetables; and, lastly, he enjoyed his days with his beloved children dreaming of their future.
His passing leaves a significant void in the lives of those he touched, but will live on through those same lives through the memories of all their times together.
In addition to flowers, monetary donations can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
