Moody Funeral Services Inc - StuartMr. Seavy “Kegan” Rakes Arrington, age 34 of Patrick Springs, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at his home. He was born in Mount Airy, North Carolina on September 26, 1991. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lark Rakes Eaton; two uncles, Terry Arrington and Tommie Rakes; paternal grandparents, Claude Arrington and Estherlene Chapell Arrington; and maternal grandparents, Bernard Rakes and Barbara June Church Rakes.
Kegan was a graduate of Patrick County High School and attended Ferrum College, where he played football for a year. He thoroughly loved theatre and acting as well. He was employed by Hall Propane’s Mount Airy Office for the past 4 years. Known by all for his shock of red hair and infectious smile, he was a true sports fanatic at heart. He was among Tom Brady and the Patriots’ biggest fan, only slightly ahead of his love for Kobe Bryant and the Lakers. More importantly, his love for family and his son was paramount in his life. He was an amazing father, brother, and son, and put family first. People gravitated toward him as he had an incredible sense of humor and a real energy about him. Your earthly family and friends are aligned in this sentiment: Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
Kegan is survived by his son, Braylon Elyjah Arrington of the home; his father, Claude Anderson “C.A.” Arrington of Woolwine; a sister, Misty Arrington Cox (Joshua Hulick) of Martinsville; a nephew, Tristan Cox; two uncles, Danny Arrington (Rhonda) of Kentucky and Donny Rakes (Janet) of Stuart; an aunt, Claudine A. Williams (Steve) of New York and many dear cousins and friends.
A celebration of life for Kegan will be held Friday, October 10, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Rotary Field Hooker Building in Stuart. A college fund is being set up for his son, Braylon, and will be announced as soon as details become available.
