Secondo "Sy" Pagani

Secondo "Sy" Pagani 99 of Clifton died Tuesday February 17, 2026 with his family by his side. Born in Quintodecimo, Italy to Domenic & Annamaria (Catalini) Pagani. He immigrated to the United States in 1930 and settled in Pennsylvania before moving to Clifton almost 70 years ago.

Sy was a manager at Mebane Packaging in Kearny until his retirement in 1996. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church in Clifton.

Sy is a US Army veteran of World War II who served in Okinawa. He is a Past Commander of Athenia Veterans Post in Clifton.

Sy enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren. Sy was also an avid golfer and was an expert craftsman building toys for his grandchildren.

Sy is pre-deceased by his wife of 60 years Phyllis (Neri), by his son Joseph Pagani, two brothers; Americo & Louis Pagani, and by a sister Toni Peterson. He is survived by his daughter in-law, Kathy Pagani (Nazarkewycz), two sons; Patrick Pagani & wife Sherry of Clifton, and Dr. Francis Pagani & wife, Dr. Nancy Anastasi of South Lyon, MI, by a daughter Linda Hoffman & husband Brian of Glen Gardner, by eight grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10AM Saturday, February 21, 2026 at St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church, 400 Mt. Prospect Avenue, Clifton, NJ 07012 followed by entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.

In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association would be appreciated.
