Debbie Rubel "Duplak" Rubel

Debbie (Duplak) Rubel, 73 and Guy Rubel, 74 of Clifton died Sunday, February 1, 2026, just hours apart. Debbie was born in Passaic to Michael and Anna (Simchak) Duplak. Guy was born in Newark to Gustave and Carol (Nowatka) Rubel. They were married on February 8, 1975, and lived in Clifton their entire lives together.

Both graduates of Clifton High School, Debbie and Guy were lifelong residents of the area. Debbie was employed as a customer service representative with Givaudan in Clifton for 50 years before retiring in 2022. Guy worked as a freelance master sheetrock installer, also serving the Clifton and surrounding communities for many years. They were devoted parishioners of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Passaic.

Debbie was particular and meticulous; qualities that reflected her deep care for both her work and her home life. She devoted herself to taking care of Guy, her family and her neighbors. Debbie very rarely did anything for herself, but when she did, she found joy in quiet evenings watching Hallmark movies and treasured spending holidays surrounded by those she loved.

Guy especially treasured his hunting trips with friends through the Timberline Outdoorsman Organization, often gathering at the barn in upstate New York, making memories he held close to his heart. He also spent many years volunteering at Kessler Rehabilitation Center in Saddle Brook after they helped him with his own rehabilitation after his stroke 24 years ago.

In their younger years, Debbie and Guy were avid surfers and shared a love of music, especially the Beach Boys and country favorites. They cherished their annual trips to Canada and were never happier than when spending time at their lake house, out on the boat, surrounded by family.

They are survived by their sisters, Juliann Miskowsky of Passaic and Dawn Rubel (Taj Herbert) of Hewitt, New Jersey. They are also survived by their nephews, Daniel Miskowsky Jr. and his wife, Corinne, of Clifton, New Jersey, and Matthew Miskowsky and his wife, Francesca, of Rockaway, New Jersey and Morgan and Hunter; their great-nephews, Kyle, Maddox, and Chase; and their beloved goddaughter, Abby Leon.

Visiting hours are Monday from 4-8 PM at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Road, Clifton, NJ 07012. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at Allwood Funeral Home, followed by burial at East Ridgelawn Cemetery.

Memorial donations to the Boys & Girls Club of Clifton or the Kessler Foundation in Debbie and Guy's names will be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
