Billy Gene Pagani, age 93, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully in his home on March 24, 2025 surrounded by his loving family, after a yearlong battle with MDS cancer.
Billy was born August 6, 1931 in Benton Illinois, the son of Mike Pagani and Gladys Tennison Pagani.
Billy attended Benton Township High School and graduated in 1949. After high school he chose to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Navy. He served honorably for four years earning many service awards and accommodations while stationed in Korea. Billy then went on to attend Southern Illinois University. After college, he became interested in the culinary industry and became a restaurateur owning and managing many successful establishments over the next 20 years. He then followed his interest in architecture and became a designer and builder of over 80 convenience stores.
He married Jacquelene Plantec on January 6, 1961. They met in high school and were married for over 64 years.
Billy was an outdoorsman at heart who enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing, and was also talented at creating stained glass artwork which he loved gifting to his friends.
He served as a member of the Lions Club for 50 years where he held many leadership roles and was a coordinator and volunteer for a multitude of service projects.
Billy attended church at Fellowship of San Antonio. He played an active role as a greeter looking forward to visiting with all of the worshipers each Sunday and providing them with coffee. He advanced to the position of Deacon, but his most proud accomplishment was becoming an Elder of the church.
Remaining to cherish Billy's memory are his spouse Jacquelene Pagani, children, Lisa Pagani, Lori and husband Vance Cox, Angela Mia and husband Todd Keeter, grandchildren, Dalton Cox, Elle Cox and Demitri Keeter, and his loving sister Mary Lou Farmer.
A celebration of life for Billy will be held April 18 from 1 o'clock to 3 o'clock in Boerne, Texas at the Ebensberger Fisher funeral home with a reception to follow the service.
