Selah Fields Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Walnut Lawn Funeral Home - Springfield on Feb. 16, 2023.
Selah Fields, age 1, of Nixa, Missouri, passed from this life on February 14, 2023. She was born to Lonnie James Fields and Samrawit "Samri" Moges Tesfay on February 12, 2022.
Selah A. Fields was and still is a very intriguing individual. She would captivate you in a way that you couldn't do anything but show her affection. Selah, at a young age had a trait that most develop later in life, if they ever developed it at all. She never wanted to give up on anything. We noticed this about her, and were kind of left in wonder about this side of her. Selah had something about her that was just different in a good way. Almost as if she knew something we didn't know. Selah was mature in a way that she already knew how to connect with people, and that's what she seemed to want most was to connect with the people around her. She loved playing with her siblings, she loved to sing and be sung to, and she liked story time with her family. We understand that Selah will grow up in the Kingdom of GOD, and we understand that through CHRIST we will be united with her again. We also understand this life is temporary. In the meantime we will miss her, we will grieve, and we will heal....But we know in the end when the truth of all matters is revealed: That we, along with Selah, have the victory.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-15 (KJV)
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1 Corinthians 15:51-57
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
A funeral service to celebrate Selah will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Springfield, Missouri. A private burial will follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
Her care has been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory.
