Selena "Maxine" Griffin Selena "Maxine" (nee Burns) Griffin of Byrnes Mill, Missouri, was born February 12, 1939 in Mineral Point, Missouri to Norman Lee and Mabel Marie (nee Gibson) Burns and entered into rest Tuesday, August 19, 2025 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 86 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Griffin; parents, Norman Lee and Mabel Marie (nee Gibson) Burns; siblings, Clifford Burns & Ralph Burns. She is survived by her children, Kayla (John) Brockman, Kelly (Kevin) McCune, and Kara (Jim) Jeffries; grandchildren, Christopher (Crystal) Brockman, Matthew (Stephanie) McCune, Benjamin (Kaylee) McCune, Kristina (Kraig) Schinzing, Kortney (Jake) Pitts, Kyle (Kimberly) Jeffries; 9 great-grandchildren; 3great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Bill) Adams; along with numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Maxine Griffin was the heart and matriarch of her family. She took the greatest pride in her roles as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, cherishing each generation with endless love. Maxine was known for her kind and pure soul, her thoughtfulness, and her remarkable memory. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion, often sending a card, making a call, or preparing a favorite dish to let others know how loved they were. Her gentle spirit touched everyone she met, and she found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially gardening and reading. Above all, Maxine's legacy is one of unconditional love, selflessness, and family devotion. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Missouri 63016. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary. Interment will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill, Missouri.
