It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Serenity Kazue Chidester, who departed this world on August 12, 2025, on what would have been her 15th birthday. Known as "Serene" to all friends and family. Serenity was born on August 12, 2010, in Las Vegas, NV, but she made her home in Highland, and later Taylorsville, UT. Her spirit touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Serenity was a bright and gifted young woman who embraced life with enthusiasm and creativity. She had a unique love for writing, reading, and was a talented artist. She was often found writing and creating her own stories, lost in the pages of her favorite books, or sketching in her sketchbooks. She expressed herself through her creativity and shared her passion with family and friends. Serenity also had a love for music, showcasing her skills on the piano and sharing her melodies, which brought joy to those around her.

An avid athlete, she ran track and played soccer, embodying the values of perseverance and teamwork. Serenity was always surrounded by friends, who looked up to her for her kindness, intelligence, and unwavering support. She cherished the moments spent with her loved ones, including her beloved parents, Eric and Lauren Chidester, her sister Cadence, and her brother Greyson. She also found great solace in her faith, spending time at the church and the temple, which played a significant role in her life.

Serenity is survived by her loving family, including her grandparents, Robert and JoAnn Horito, and Robbie and Nancy Chidester; many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends, who will forever cherish the memories created with her.

In honor of Serenity's life, a public viewing will be held at the Riverview Ward Chapel on August 15, 2025, at 6:00 pm, where friends and family are invited to come together to remember her warmth and spirit. This will be followed by a public viewing at Avonmore Ward Chapel on August 16, 2025, beginningat 9:45 am. Serenity's funeral service will take place at Avonmore Ward Chapel at 11:00 am the same day, celebrating her remarkable life and the joy she brought to so many.

Her final resting place will be at 6200 West 11000 North in Highland, UT, where she will be laid to rest on August 16, 2025, at Highland City Cemetery.

As we reflect on the precious time we had with Serenity, let us remember her radiant smile, her artistic spirit, and the love she shared with everyone. She will be forever missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire us to live life fully and cherish one another.
