Serhii Boiko, born on March 15, 1953, in Ukraine, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, in Pittsboro, North Carolina, at the age of 72.
A man of profound intellect and curiosity, Serhii dedicated his life to the field of education, where he immersed himself in the study of languages from around the world. His passion lay particularly in Esperanto and Qigong, which he believed held the power to connect people across cultures and distances.
Serhii was an avid lifelong learner whose thirst for knowledge knew no bounds. This love for learning extended beyond academics; he had a deep appreciation for music and was a connoisseur of travel, with Europe holding a special place in his heart. Through his journeys, he enriched his understanding of the world and fostered a spiritual connection that guided his life.
Serhii was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Oleksandr and Valentina Boiko, and his dear aunt, Svitlana Kulik. He is survived by his devoted wife, Raisa Boiko, who stood by his side throughout their many years together. His legacy lives on through his loving daughters, Galyna Shostak and her husband Maksym, and Lesia Osovska and her husband Oleksandr. He was the proud grandfather of five cherished granddaughters: Emilia Shostak, Diana Osovska, Mariana Shostak, Zoia Osovska, and Mira Osovska, who brought him immense joy.
Serhii's journey on this earth has come to an end, but the memories he leaves behind will be treasured by those who knew and loved him.
