Seth Pastore

Seth Pastore, 52, of Torrington, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 22, 2025 in his home. He was born in Meriden on November 26, 1973. He was the son of James Smith and the late Amy Pastore.
Seth spent over 30 years working in the construction and concrete business, a trade that reflected his strong worth ethic and dedication. Outside of work, he found joy in gardening, music and good food. A lifelong musician, he played guitar, bass and nearly any instrument he could get his hands on. He performed in two bands, Selfish Steam and The Damn Hippies. He was a devoted fan of The Grateful Dead and followed them on tour for several years. He was also a great cook. He loved sharing meals as much as he loved making them. Above all, he cherished time spent with his granddaughter and "bestie" Skylar. Known for his humor, charismatic personality, and generous spirit, he was a deeply loving man with a heart of gold.
In addition to his father, Seth is survived by his daughter, Zoe Moon Pastore of Wallingford; his son, Forrest Douglas McMurrin of Washington State; his sisters, Colleen Morgan (Smith), Kelly (Smith), and Susan Kola (Puglisi); and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his significant other, Michelle Frappier; his stepdaughter, Kayla Hickox; and his granddaughter, Skylar Young-Hickox.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., on Sunday January 4th from 12:00 pm to 2:00pm. A celebration of his life will follow at the PNA Park Lodge, 171 N Plains Industrial Rd,. In Wallingford beginning at 2:00pm. Burial will be held privately.
