Shahrokh "Rock" Shary

Shahrokh “Rock” Shary, 80, of Stuart, FL passed away on October 13, 2024. He is survived by his daughter Sheila (Peter) Candler of Jupiter, FL, his granddaughters Lindsey Candler, of Hackensack, NJ, and Sophie Candler, of New York, NY, his brother Shahab “Tom” (Christie) Shary of Dana Point, CA, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Vicki Lynn Shary, and his younger brother Shahin.
Rock was born in Tehran, Iran on July 2, 1944. He moved to the United States in 1962, in pursuit of the American dream. He studied Chemical Engineering, earning a Master's Degree at the University of Utah where he met his future wife Vicki (née Reif). Rock worked for many years as a talented engineer and consultant, many of those years at DuPont where he made a great number of lifelong friends.
His greatest joy in life was his large extended family and friends. He was a loving father and doting grandfather. His family was his greatest joy in life. He particularly loved spoiling his granddaughters (tea parties, popsicles for breakfast, and jumping in the bouncy house on the lake). He was incredibly social and loved meeting new people. He could always be counted on to make you laugh and smile or try to get you to dance or eat just a little bit more. He loved traveling the world with his late wife, family, and friends and discovering new cultures.
He appreciated all different genres of music and learned to play the accordion at a young age. He loved entertaining and playing with his cousins and uncles at family gatherings. He enjoyed attending happy hours and musical performances at Addington Place in Stuart, FL. He could often be found walking the hallways there, playing music on his phone, and maybe doing a little dancing.
We will miss his bright spirit, laughter, and infectious smile. He was much loved and will be missed.
