SHANDRE` MARIE PLATT
September 11, 1986 - August 28, 2025
Shandre` Marie Platt, age 38, passed away on August 28, 2025, in Richmond, KY. Shandre was born in Orange County, California and grew up in Columbus, Ohio. Later she moved to Kentucky. She was known to family as "Marie" and to friends as "Shay". As a student in Columbus, she attended West High School and Southwestern Career Center. Her love of drawing and art led her to enroll at the Columbus College of Art and Design.
She had an adventurous spirit and loved the outdoors; walking, fishing, swimming, and just being outside brought a smile to her. She also enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes Football games! She faced many challenges in her adult life, which she overcame, and was on a good path. While working as a Dairy Queen Manager in Richmond, Shay was able to focus on her recovery and had friends who helped her. She believed in Jesus Christ, was baptized and left a true testimony of how the Lord is a God of possibilities.
Shandre` is survived by her loving children, Brian Ott III, Jayden Bruce, and Gabriella Platt; by her mother and step-father, Vickie and Donald Pierce; and by her brother, Ryan (Megan) Platt; and their children, Raegan, Maesyn, Roman and Mylan. She is also survived by her grandmother, Nancy Platt; her aunt, Sarah Defourny; cousins, Miranda Defourny and Jason Defourny; her aunt and uncle, Martha and Rob Burton; cousins, Brett (Kim) Burton, Traci (Rob) Anderson; and their son, Zachary.
She was preceded in death by her father, John A. Platt; grandfather, Robert S. Platt Jr.; grandmother, Patricia Lind; niece, Morgan Platt; nephew, Martin Platt; aunt, Jacqueline Clark; and cousin, Kimberly Frye.
Shandre` was loved by many and will be missed beyond measure. Following cremation, the family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
